Alberta Radio October 29 gas prices: Calgary 158.4¢/L, Edmonton 157.7¢/L, Airdrie 160.8¢/L, town prices and a separately labelled Friday diesel forecast.

Gas prices continued sliding on Thursday, October 29, 2026, but city averages remained well above the low-140s figures forecast earlier this week. Calgary averaged 158.4¢/L, down 1.8¢ since Wednesday, while Edmonton averaged 157.7¢/L, down 1.4¢. Airdrie fell 1.0¢ to 160.8¢/L.

This update reflects the supplied 9:41–9:43 AM MT digest, compared with the October 28 pull at 9:22 AM. All prices are Canadian cents per litre. Station reports can lag changes; confirm the displayed pump price. Costco fuel requires membership.

The forecast drop has not reached city averages

Canadians for Affordable Energy had forecast Calgary at 143.9¢/L Wednesday and 141.9¢ Thursday, and Edmonton at 141.9¢ and 139.9¢. Observed averages remain around 158¢. Across the two days, CheapGas averages fell 4.0¢ in Calgary and 3.2¢ in Edmonton. Only the lowest station reports are near the earlier forecast levels.

The forecaster has also revised its diesel outlook sharply upward. Its figures are forecasts, not pump readings, and changes in its forecast series should not be added directly to observed averages.

Calgary: 158.4¢/L average; lowest report 137¢

CheapGasCalgary’s 9:15 AM snapshot covered 284 stations; the newest report was at 8:23 AM. Calgary is now 2.6¢ below the supplied pre-holiday benchmark of 161.0¢/L.

Costco at 12905 Buffalo Run Boulevard remained at 137¢/L. Tsuut’ina Gas on Weaselhead Road and Tsuut’ina Gas Stop on Chiila Boulevard were at 141¢. Costco at 99 Heritage Gate SE was at 145¢, followed by Co-op Shawnessy at 250 Shawville Boulevard SE at 149¢.

Edmonton: 157.7¢/L average; single-report low needs checking

CheapGasEdmonton’s 9:10 AM snapshot covered 245 stations, with the newest report at 8:06 AM. The average is now 4.3¢ below the supplied pre-holiday benchmark of 162.0¢/L.

Shell at 12206 Stony Plain Road showed 138¢/L, but this is a single report worth verifying. Esso at 16002 114 Avenue was at 141¢, replacing yesterday’s suspect 130¢ report. Costco at 12450 149 Street NW was at 145¢. The station at 14035 Victoria Trail NW and Tempo on 158 Avenue were at 146¢.

Airdrie: 160.8¢/L as more stations move lower

The 9:15 AM snapshot covered 18 stations. Gas Plus on Airdrie Road showed 159¢/L from an October 28, 8:36 PM report. Eight stations had fresh reports at 160¢, including Co-op Main Street, Circle K, 7-Eleven Market Street, both Mobils, Petro-Canada Edmonton Trail and the Shells at 2nd Avenue and East Lake. The digest’s manually counted median was 160.5¢.

GasBuddy, CAA and previous-day Kalibrate figures

GasBuddy’s Alberta page at about 9:42 AM showed Calgary at 157.9¢/L, down 2.1¢, and Edmonton at 156.8¢/L, down 1.4¢. CAA’s national average, updated at 4:00 AM, was 171.7¢, down 0.6¢. CheapGas averages put Calgary 13.3¢ below that figure and Edmonton 14.0¢ below.

Kalibrate’s October 28 table is one day behind this update. Its regular averages were Calgary 158.7¢/L (−3.3¢), Edmonton 158.7¢ (−3.0¢), Red Deer 163.9¢ (−0.8¢), Lethbridge 153.8¢ (−3.7¢), Lloydminster 155.2¢ (+0.5¢) and Grande Prairie 158.2¢ (−4.1¢). Those changes compare with its October 27 table.

Costco tracker: October 28 evening listings

The Costco tracker refreshed at 6:42 PM MT October 28, about 15 hours before the digest. It listed Buffalo Run at 136.9¢/L; north Edmonton on 149 Street and Calgary Heritage Gate at 144.9¢; east Edmonton on 50 Street, St. Albert, Nisku, south Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Winterburn and 186 Street at 146.9¢.

Calgary East Hills, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Calgary Sarcee Trail, Okotoks and CrossIron were listed at 149.9¢/L; Red Deer at 152.9¢; and Grande Prairie at 154.9¢. These are older, members-only station listings, not live city averages.

Diesel: revised forecast calls for another 18¢ Friday

CheapGas reported Calgary diesel at 208¢/L at Superstore Gas Bar Southport, up 8¢. Edmonton’s 190¢ report was attached to a Shell without an address; it is a single unverified report and should not be treated as a confirmed low.

The Costco tracker showed diesel at 216.9¢/L in Grande Prairie and 218.9¢ at Calgary East Hills, both unchanged. Kalibrate’s October 28 diesel averages were Calgary 225.5¢, Edmonton 233.6¢, Red Deer 228.4¢, Lethbridge 233.4¢, Lloydminster 234.7¢ and Grande Prairie 219.6¢.

Canadians for Affordable Energy’s revised Thursday diesel figures are 222.9¢/L in Calgary and 220.9¢ in Edmonton, up 26¢ in its series. For Friday, October 30, it forecasts 240.9¢ in Calgary and 238.9¢ in Edmonton, another 18¢ increase. Its earlier prediction of a drop to about 196¢ did not hold. Treat this revised call cautiously and compare actual pump prices before making a special trip.

Premium and regular-gas outlook

Reported premium lows were 159¢/L at Costco, 12905 Buffalo Run Boulevard, in Calgary, and 167¢ at an Edmonton Costco. Yesterday’s suspect Edmonton Esso premium report was no longer listed.

CAE’s Thursday regular forecasts were 141.9¢/L in Calgary and Medicine Hat and 139.9¢ in Edmonton, with Friday unchanged. Those forecasts run roughly 16–18¢ below current city pump averages. CheapGas forecasts remain unavailable.
