Alberta Gas Prices Today: October 26, 2026 Monday Update
Updated: 15 hours ago

After a volatile week, Calgary and Edmonton gas prices have settled slightly above their pre-tax-holiday comparison levels in Alberta Radio’s Monday briefing. Calgary averaged 164.3¢/L across 283 stations, while Edmonton averaged 162.2¢ across 248 stations. Airdrie averaged 161.9¢.
Snapshot: Monday, October 26, 2026, pulled at 11:36 a.m. Mountain Time. Changes below compare with the previous pull on Thursday, October 22. They skip the weekend and are not overnight changes. All regular gasoline prices are cents per litre.
Calgary gas prices: 164.3¢ average
Calgary’s average was down 1.4¢ from Thursday’s 165.7¢/L. It remained 3.3¢ above the supplied pre-tax-holiday comparison level of 161.0¢.
The Buffalo Run Costco listings were 146¢/L, up 11¢ from Thursday’s 135¢ reports. Tsuut’ina stations followed at 148¢. Costco prices require membership. These are reported station prices, not the price charged across the entire city.
Edmonton: 162.2¢ average, lowest report at 151¢
Edmonton’s average rose 1.1¢ from Thursday’s 161.1¢/L to 162.2¢. That puts it 0.2¢ above the supplied pre-holiday comparison of 162.0¢.
The lowest supplied Edmonton report was 151¢/L at Mobil on 137 Avenue. Check the report time and posted pump price before travelling for a cheaper fill.
Airdrie and regional averages
Airdrie’s average dropped 6.1¢ from Thursday’s 168.0¢ to 161.9¢/L. The supplied regional comparisons show a different pattern in Spruce Grove and Beaumont, where averages increased substantially.
Community | Monday average ¢/L | Change since Oct 22 |
|---|---|---|
Airdrie | 161.9 | −6.1¢ |
Spruce Grove | 156.6 | +8.1¢ |
Beaumont | 160.8 | +10.1¢ |
St. Albert | 156.9 | Down; exact change not supplied |
Spruce Grove rose 8.1¢ to 156.6¢/L and Beaumont rose 10.1¢ to 160.8¢. St. Albert was 156.9¢, below Thursday’s 159.2¢. The graphic leaves St. Albert’s change blank because the latest briefing did not state an exact change.
The cheapest reports are higher than last Thursday
Calgary’s Buffalo Run Costco price of 146¢ was 11¢ above the Thursday report, even though the city’s overall average eased across the same comparison period. This illustrates why city averages and individual station prices need to be kept separate.
The supplied Monday check no longer showed the much lower Edmonton bargains carried in previous briefings. A station report can change before a tracker catches up, particularly during a week with sharp increases.
GasBuddy and the national comparison
GasBuddy’s supplied averages were 163.6¢/L for Calgary and 161.4¢ for Edmonton. CAA’s national average was 172.4¢, described as flat in the briefing.
Against that national benchmark, the main Calgary average was about 8¢ lower and Edmonton about 10¢ lower. Provider averages use different samples and update windows, so the CheapGas and GasBuddy figures remain identified separately rather than combined.
Diesel gets some relief
The supplied diesel lows were approximately 211–214¢/L, while one forecaster put diesel near 220¢. These station-low reports and forecast estimates are different measures; the briefing did not provide station addresses for the diesel lows.
No precise weekend-to-Monday diesel change is calculated here because the supplied update does not include a matching weekend baseline. Drivers should confirm current diesel prices directly before purchasing.
What happened to Friday’s forecast?
Last week’s call for another 14–20¢ increase appeared only partly in the October 23 Kalibrate table, according to the supplied briefing, and prices have eased since. The current Costco tracker and Kalibrate figures were described as stale, so they are not used as fresh Monday pump readings.
This update does not reconstruct the skipped weekend or treat a forecast as a confirmed station price. Monday’s figures are compared with the last available pull on Thursday.
Before you fill up
Compare the correct fuel grade, report age, opening hours and any membership requirements. A 10¢/L difference saves $5 on a 50-litre fill; a long detour can reduce that saving. Confirm the price shown on the pump before filling.
Sources and reporting notes
This article and its Alberta Radio graphic use the October 26 briefing supplied to Alberta Radio. Source readings were not independently reverified at publication. The briefing draws on CheapGas city reports, GasBuddy and CAA, with separate commentary on diesel forecasts and stale Kalibrate and Costco tracker data.
