Alberta Radio October 22, 2026 gas-price update: Calgary averages 165.7¢/L, Edmonton 161.1¢ and Airdrie 168.0¢, with regional prices and separate Friday forecasts.

Gas prices continued climbing in Alberta Radio’s Thursday morning check. Calgary averaged 165.7¢/L, up 4.9¢ from Wednesday morning, and Edmonton averaged 161.1¢, up 5.7¢. Those increases followed Wednesday’s roughly 9–10¢ jump. Airdrie rose another 8.8¢ to 168.0¢.

Snapshot: October 22, 2026, pulled at approximately 10:07 a.m. Mountain Time. CheapGas’s Calgary-area pages were dated 9:15 a.m. and Edmonton-area pages 9:10 a.m. Comparisons are against the October 21 morning pull. All regular gasoline figures are cents per litre.

Calgary gas prices: 165.7¢ average

Calgary’s average covered 296 stations, rising from 160.8¢ to 165.7¢/L. Against the supplied pre-holiday comparison of 161.0¢, it was now 4.7¢ higher. The latest station report in the snapshot was at 9:03 a.m.; no median was shown.

The lowest supplied reports remained 135¢ at Costco, 12901 and 12905 Buffalo Run Boulevard. Tsuut’ina Gas at 5898 Weaselhead Road and Gas Stop at 9915 Chiila Boulevard followed at 137¢. The next listing was 150¢ at 7-Eleven, 5310 17 Avenue SE. These low reports may lag price changes; confirm the pump price before travelling.

Edmonton: 161.1¢ average, conflicting lowest-price displays

Edmonton averaged 161.1¢/L across 258 stations, up from 155.4¢. It remained 0.9¢ below the supplied pre-holiday comparison of 162.0¢. The newest station report in this snapshot was at 8:15 a.m.; no median was shown.

The page headline listed Mobil at 5019 Calgary Trail at 139¢, but its own top-five list began at 140¢. Those 140¢ listings were Apollo, 4020 118 Avenue NW; Canadian Tire, 2204 101 Street NW; and Tempo, 16710 8 Street. Mobil at 4950 137 Avenue NW and 9711 23 Avenue followed at 141¢. Wednesday’s 132¢ Costco listing was no longer in that top list.

Because the source displays disagree, this article does not present 139¢ as an independently confirmed lowest pump price. Check the station directly before relying on the listing.

Airdrie: 168.0¢ average

Airdrie averaged 168.0¢/L across 18 stations, up 8.8¢. Today’s reports were mostly 168¢. Listings of 162¢ at 900 Market Street SE, 800 Yankee Valley Boulevard SW and 2002 Luxstone Boulevard came from Wednesday afternoon or evening and may be stale.

The supplied check flagged a 185¢ Shell report at 169 East Lake Crescent NE as a possible outlier. UFA on Highland Park was listed at 173¢. No official median was supplied.

Regional low reports included Canadian Tire on St. Mathews Avenue in Spruce Grove at 140¢, Canco on 50 Street in Beaumont at 143¢, and Co-op on Deer Valley Drive in Leduc at 143¢, with ties noted in the supplied check.

Fort Saskatchewan’s Co-op #7 on Southfort Drive was 154¢; St. Albert Costco was 150¢; Sherwood Park’s 7-Eleven on Cloverbar Road was 146¢. Cochrane’s Mobil on 5 Avenue was 159¢. Costco listings in Balzac and Okotoks were 160¢. Costco prices require membership.

GasBuddy and CAA comparisons

GasBuddy’s supplied readings were 166.5¢/L for Calgary, up 5.0¢, and 159.7¢ for Edmonton, up 5.4¢. CAA’s national average, updated at 4 a.m., was 172.5¢, up 1.3¢ from 171.2¢; its week-earlier figure was 175.1¢.

Using the CheapGas averages, Calgary was approximately 7¢ below the national benchmark and Edmonton about 11¢ below. Provider averages can differ because their station samples, geographic coverage and update windows differ.

Kalibrate and Costco: older comparison readings

Kalibrate’s October 21 table predates this morning’s moves. Its regular-gas averages were Calgary 156.2¢, Edmonton 157.7¢, Red Deer 149.4¢, Lethbridge 156.0¢, Lloydminster 147.9¢ and Grande Prairie 156.5¢.

The separate Costco tracker was refreshed at 6:42 p.m. Wednesday. It listed Buffalo Run at 134.9¢, east Edmonton at 139.9¢, Nisku at 141.9¢ and several other Edmonton-area locations at 142.9¢. Other listings ranged from 142.9¢ at Calgary Heritage Gate to 151.9¢ in Medicine Hat. These older tracker prices are not fresh Thursday observations and should not replace the morning reports.

Diesel and premium prices

CheapGas’s supplied diesel lows were 213¢/L at a Real Canadian GasBar in Calgary and 214¢ at a Mobil in Edmonton, but no addresses were supplied. Costco listings were 209.9¢ in Grande Prairie and 213.9¢ at Calgary East Hills.

Kalibrate’s October 21 diesel averages ranged from 224.6¢ to 236.9¢: Calgary 229.5¢, Edmonton 228.9¢, Red Deer 224.6¢, Lethbridge 236.9¢, Lloydminster 234.9¢ and Grande Prairie 225.5¢. These are dated city averages, separate from low station listings.

Premium lows in the supplied check were 160¢ at Costco, 12905 Buffalo Run Boulevard in Calgary, and 163¢ at Elfasdi’s Gas in Edmonton; no Edmonton address was supplied.

Friday forecasts: larger increases in a separate series

Canadians for Affordable Energy forecast Friday regular gasoline at 173.9¢/L in Calgary and Medicine Hat, up 14¢ in its series, and 170.9¢ in Edmonton, up 20¢. Its Friday diesel forecasts were 258.9¢ in Calgary and 254.9¢ in Edmonton, both up 24¢.

These forecast changes are relative to that service’s own Thursday figures, not additions to the CheapGas averages above. CAE’s revised Thursday regular figures were 159.9¢ in Calgary and 150.9¢ in Edmonton; its Thursday diesel figures were 234.9¢ and 230.9¢. Forecasts are estimates, not confirmed pump prices.

Wednesday’s briefing cited a roughly 7¢ Thursday gasoline increase. The supplied CheapGas averages instead rose 4.9¢ in Calgary and 5.7¢ in Edmonton, with GasBuddy showing similar increases. Those readings show the direction was higher, but they do not validate an exact forecast from another series. CheapGas’s own forecasts were unavailable.
