(Digest note: Midday Saturday covered Rocky View luxury break-in charges, the Ndatuje acquittal, Hussar CNRL fire, and the still-open Olds/Mountain View diesel theft. No fresh overnight arrests on those files.)
Alberta Politics
Kenney, Wilson and Gordon on Oct. 19. CBC Edmonton covered Friday evening's University of Alberta panel on Alberta separation: Let Alberta Decide's Keith Wilson made the independence case; former premier Jason Kenney and lawyer Marie Gordon argued for staying. Kenney warned a large minority Option 2 vote could harden into a permanently divisive fact in Alberta politics; Wilson said Alberta has a legal pathway and grows despite laws from Ottawa. Gordon flagged the other nine referendum questions — especially immigration — as messaging that scapegoats newcomers. Fifteen days to the ballot. No Pacific Link in this roundup.
