Alberta Gas Prices Today: October 20, 2026 Tuesday Update

CheapGas is updating again, and Alberta Radio’s supplied Tuesday morning check shows a substantial decline from Friday’s readings. Calgary averaged 151.7¢/L, down 5.9¢ since Friday, while Edmonton averaged 145.7¢, down 5.4¢. Airdrie averaged 153.8¢, an 8¢ decline.
Snapshot: Tuesday, October 20, 2026, read approximately 10:10–10:48 a.m. Mountain Time. Changes in the CheapGas comparisons below are since Friday, not overnight. All regular gasoline figures are cents per litre. Kalibrate’s other-city averages are dated October 19 and are identified separately.
Calgary gas prices: 151.7¢ average, lowest reports at 138¢
Calgary’s average covered 286 stations. The supplied comparison places it about 9¢ below its pre-tax-holiday level. The lowest reports were 138¢ at Esso, 2505 Eversyde Avenue SW, and Petro-Canada, 2335 162 Avenue SW.
The next-lowest reports were 139¢ at the Buffalo Run Costco listings and Esso on Shawville Boulevard SE. A lowest station report is not the price charged across the entire city.
Edmonton: 145.7¢ average, east Edmonton Costco at 132¢
Edmonton averaged 145.7¢/L across 251 stations, approximately 16¢ below its pre-tax-holiday comparison level. Costco at 13650 50 Street NW supplied the lowest report at 132¢.
Canco on 66 Street followed at 133¢. Three Esso stations, on 50 Street, Victoria Trail and Hermitage Road, were reported at 134¢. Confirm the station and fuel grade before travelling for a lower price.
Airdrie: average falls 8¢ to 153.8¢
Airdrie’s average was 153.8¢/L, down 8¢ since Friday. Twelve stations were at 152¢ in the supplied morning check.

Other Alberta cities: Kalibrate averages dated October 19
The supplied Kalibrate averages were Lloydminster 145.9¢/L, Red Deer 149.5¢, Grande Prairie 156.7¢ and Lethbridge 157.3¢. These are Monday’s city averages, not a fresh Tuesday survey.
Medicine Hat’s Costco was listed at 151.9¢/L. That is an individual station listing; no Medicine Hat city average was supplied.
GasBuddy and CAA comparison
GasBuddy’s supplied figures were 151.8¢/L in Calgary and 146.5¢ in Edmonton, both approximately flat from Monday. CAA’s national average was 171.3¢, putting Calgary about 20¢ below and Edmonton about 26¢ below when compared with the CheapGas averages.
Provider figures can differ because of station samples, geographic coverage and update windows. The CheapGas decline since Friday should not be described as an overnight drop or combined with GasBuddy’s separate daily comparison.
Diesel and premium prices
Diesel was broadly around 210–237¢/L in the supplied check. Low listings included Costco on East Hills Boulevard in Calgary at 214¢ and Costco in Grande Prairie at 209.9¢. The exact Grande Prairie listing is slightly below the rounded range.
Premium gasoline was listed as low as 163¢/L at the Buffalo Run Costco in Calgary and 155¢ at the 50 Street Costco in Edmonton. These are premium figures, separate from the regular-gas comparisons above. Costco prices require membership.
Wednesday outlook: one forecaster expects about 2¢ more
One forecaster in the supplied briefing expected gasoline and diesel prices to rise by roughly 2¢ on Wednesday. That is an estimate, not a confirmed increase at every station. CheapGas’s own forecasts had not returned with the restored price feed.
Before you fill up
Check the report date, the correct fuel grade, station hours and membership requirements before making a detour. A 10¢/L saving is worth $5 on a 50-litre purchase. Confirm the posted pump price before filling, since station reports can lag changes.
Sources and reporting notes
This article and its Alberta Radio graphic use the figures supplied for the October 20 morning briefing. Today’s CheapGas readings, Monday’s Kalibrate averages, individual Costco listings and forecast estimates are kept distinct. The readings were not independently reverified at publication.
The supplied research also used a Costco gas tracker for station listings. Individual listings should be confirmed at the pump.
