Alberta Gas Prices Today: October 15, 2026 Morning Update

Gas prices fell again in Calgary, Edmonton and Airdrie on Thursday morning, while the increases previously forecast by the city trackers had still not appeared. Alberta Radio’s supplied October 15 snapshot puts Calgary at 159.2¢/L and Edmonton at 153.9¢/L. Both trackers have replaced their jump forecasts with an outlook for roughly flat prices into Saturday.
This is an October 15, 2026 morning snapshot based on the supplied source readings. All regular gasoline figures are cents per litre. Community averages, individual station lows and forecasts are labelled separately. No province-wide average has been calculated.
Calgary gas prices: 159.2¢ average, Costco at 144¢
Calgary averaged 159.2¢/L across 288 stations, down 1.7¢ overnight. The median was 159¢. The cheapest regular reports remained 144¢ at the Costco listings on Buffalo Run Boulevard. Tsuut’ina Gas on Weaselhead Road and the Gas Stop on Chiila Boulevard followed at 146¢, with the Costco on East Hills Boulevard at 150¢.
The supplied update places Calgary below its pre-tax-holiday level. The tracker now expects prices to remain about flat into Saturday, a change from its earlier warning of an increase. That outlook is an estimate, not a guaranteed pump price.
Edmonton gas prices: 153.9¢ average, Esso at 141¢
Edmonton’s average fell 1.4¢ to 153.9¢/L across 254 stations, with a median of 153¢. The lowest reported regular price was 141¢ at Esso, 11760 167 Street NW.
The next-lowest reports were 142¢ at Canadian Tire on 101 Street, Costco on 50 Street and Petro-Canada on Calgary Trail. Edmonton’s tracker also dropped its jump call and now expects approximately flat prices into Saturday. The supplied morning comparison places Edmonton below its pre-tax-holiday level as well.
Airdrie: 161.8¢ average
Airdrie averaged 161.8¢/L, down 1.2¢. Gas Plus on Airdrie Road had the cheapest same-day report at 160¢, while 15 of the 19 stations were at 162¢. UFA on Highland Park Boulevard showed 150¢, but that report was from Wednesday afternoon. It is not counted as today’s lowest report.
Gas prices in 10 nearby communities
Spruce Grove remained the lowest-average community in this snapshot at 142.1¢/L, despite a 0.3¢ daily increase. The table compares averages with the lowest station reports; a low price does not mean every station in a community charges that amount.
Community | Average ¢/L | Lowest ¢/L | Daily change |
|---|---|---|---|
Spruce Grove | 142.1 | 141 | +0.3¢ |
Beaumont | 146.7 | 145 | Unchanged |
Sherwood Park | 150.1 | 145 | −1.0¢ |
Leduc / Nisku | 150.2 | 142 | +0.3¢ |
St. Albert | 152.0 | 145 | Unchanged |
Fort Saskatchewan | 158.3 | 157 | +0.5¢ |
Balzac | 159.6 | 159 | +0.6¢ |
Cochrane area | 162.1 | 160 | +0.1¢ |
Chestermere | 164.0 | 164 | −2.2¢ |
Okotoks | 169.4 | 160 | −1.0¢ |
Beaumont’s lowest report was 145¢ at Esso on 60 Street. Costco supplied the lows in Sherwood Park and St. Albert at 145¢, Nisku at 142¢ and Okotoks at 160¢. Fort Saskatchewan’s Shell on Town Crest Road was 157¢, while Centex in Bearspaw supplied the Cochrane-area low of 160¢.
GasBuddy and the national comparison
GasBuddy’s morning averages were 159.1¢/L in Calgary and 151.8¢ in Edmonton. CAA’s national average was 175.1¢, down 2¢. Against that national figure, the main CheapGas averages put Calgary about 16¢ lower and Edmonton about 21¢ lower.
Provider averages can vary with their station samples, geographic coverage, reporting windows and update times. The figures here remain identified by provider rather than blended into a single average. Gas Wizard had no figures in the supplied check.
Diesel and premium prices
The lowest diesel reports were 160¢/L at Costco on Buffalo Run in Calgary and 161¢ at Domo on 98A Avenue in Edmonton. Premium gasoline was reported as low as 154¢ at that Calgary Costco and 144¢ at Tempo on 158 Avenue in Edmonton. These are separate fuel grades, not regular-gas prices.
What to watch before filling up
The earlier predicted jump has not appeared in this morning check, and the trackers’ revised outlook is now broadly steady into the weekend. Check current station reports before deciding when or where to fill. A 10¢/L saving is worth $5 on a 50-litre purchase, so factor in any detour, station hours and membership requirements.
Community reports can lag pump changes. Always confirm the fuel grade and price displayed at the pump before filling.
Sources and methodology
This article and its branded cover use the October 15 morning readings supplied to Alberta Radio, attributed to CheapGasCalgary, CheapGasEdmonton, their town pages, GasBuddy and CAA. They are a dated snapshot rather than independently verified live prices at publication time. Older reports are identified separately where relevant, and forecasts are estimates.
