Alberta Gas Prices Today: October 14, 2026 Morning Update

3 min read

Alberta Radio’s Wednesday morning gas-price check shows another decline in Calgary, Edmonton and Airdrie, despite the earlier warning of a possible 9¢ jump. Calgary averaged 160.9¢/L and Edmonton 155.3¢/L in the supplied October 14 snapshot. Both city trackers still forecast increases by Friday: approximately 6¢ in Calgary and 8¢ in Edmonton.

Morning snapshot: October 14, 2026, approximately 10:10–10:15 a.m. Mountain Time. Prices are cents per litre for regular gasoline unless a different grade is specified. Local averages and lowest station reports are different measures; this update does not calculate a province-wide average.

Calgary gas prices: 160.9¢ average, Costco at 144¢

Calgary’s average fell 1.7¢ overnight across 287 stations, with a median of 160¢/L. At 160.9¢, the supplied update places Calgary back near its pre-tax-holiday level.

The cheapest regular reports were 144¢/L at the Costco listings on Buffalo Run Boulevard, down 3¢. Tsuut’ina Gas on Weaselhead Road and the Gas Stop on Chiila Boulevard followed at 146¢, while the Costco on East Hills Boulevard was 150¢.

CheapGasCalgary’s tracker continued to advise filling up today, anticipating roughly a 6¢ increase by Friday. The earlier jump had not appeared in this morning snapshot. A forecast is an estimate of what might happen, not a confirmed station price change.

Edmonton gas prices: 155.3¢ average, five stations at 142¢

Edmonton’s average fell 2.1¢ to 155.3¢/L across 264 stations. Its median was also 155¢. Five stations shared the lowest reported regular price of 142¢: Canadian Tire at 2204 101 Street NW and Costco locations on 186 Street, 149 Street, Winterburn Road and 91 Street.

CheapGasEdmonton’s tracker also advised filling up today, forecasting about an 8¢ increase by Friday. Drivers should distinguish that outlook from the 142¢ station reports available in the morning check.

Airdrie: 163.0¢ average, Gas Plus at 160¢

Airdrie averaged 163.0¢/L, down 1.5¢ overnight. Gas Plus on Airdrie Road was the cheapest among today’s reports at 160¢. UFA on Highland Park Boulevard still displayed 155¢, but that report was from Tuesday night. It is excluded from the same-day cheapest-price comparison.

Leduc’s lowest report was 140¢ at Costco in Nisku. Beaumont’s low was 145¢ at Esso on 60 Street. Costco supplied the lowest reports in Sherwood Park and St. Albert at 145¢, Balzac at 157¢ and Okotoks at 158¢. Fort Saskatchewan had four stations at 157¢. Cochrane-area drivers had a 158¢ report at Centex in Bearspaw.

GasBuddy and CAA: another view of the market

The supplied morning comparison showed GasBuddy averages of 160.6¢/L in Calgary and 152.8¢ in Edmonton. CAA’s national average was 177.1¢, up 1¢ from Tuesday but below 180.4¢ a week earlier.

Provider averages can differ because they use different station samples, geographic coverage, reporting windows and update times. This article keeps each provider’s figures separate rather than combining them. Gas Wizard had no figures in the morning check, so no prediction from that service is included.

Diesel and premium prices

The lowest diesel reports were 160¢/L at Calgary’s Costco on Buffalo Run Boulevard and 158¢ at Edmonton’s Domo on 156 Street. Calgary’s lowest premium report was 154¢ at the same Costco. Edmonton’s premium figure was omitted because it appeared unreliable in the supplied data.

What drivers can take from today’s update

The immediate savings are in comparing current station reports. A 10¢/L difference saves $5 on a 50-litre fill; a long detour can reduce that benefit. Check the fuel grade, report time, station hours and any membership requirements before travelling. Always confirm the price displayed at the pump.

The Friday forecasts remain useful as estimates, but the earlier expected jump did not arrive in this morning check. Price forecasts should be assessed alongside actual reported prices as the week progresses.

Sources and reporting notes

This article and its branded cover use the October 14 morning figures supplied to Alberta Radio, attributed to the sources below. The figures are a dated snapshot, not a promise that a station will still charge the same amount later today. Community reports can lag pump changes; previous-evening reports are identified separately where relevant.
