Alberta Gas Prices Today: Calgary, Edmonton & Airdrie – Monday, Oct 5, 2026
Here's your Monday check on Alberta gas prices. Calgary is averaging 155.5¢ a litre for regular and Edmonton is at 151.6¢, with the cheapest stations at 135¢ in Calgary and 141¢ in Edmonton. Below is where things stand as of 12:25 p.m. MT, and whether it pays to fill up now or wait.
Calgary
Calgary drivers are reporting an average of 155.5¢ a litre across 283 stations, with a median of 150¢. That's up 4.0¢ since this morning's 151.5¢, and up 2.3¢ from yesterday's midday 153.2¢. The lowest price in town is 135¢, a three-way tie between 7-Eleven at 11488 24 St SE, Mobil / Esso at 15915 Macleod Trail SE, and Tempo at 1071 Canyon Meadows Dr SW.
Fill up or wait? Wait until Tuesday if you can. The tracker expects a drop of about 8¢ a litre over the next three days, and Tuesday is usually Calgary's cycle low. The 7-day average is falling, down 8.4¢ against the 21-day trend, while the weekly cycle adds about half a cent right now.
Edmonton
Edmonton drivers are reporting an average of 151.6¢ a litre across 266 stations, with a median of 148¢. That's up 1.5¢ since this morning's 150.1¢, but down 0.7¢ from yesterday's midday 152.3¢. The lowest price in town is 141¢ at Esso / Smart Stop 24/7, 9850 34 Ave.
Fill up or wait? Wait until Tuesday if you can. The tracker expects a drop of about 6¢ a litre over the next three days, and Tuesday is usually Edmonton's cycle low. The 7-day average is falling, down 7.1¢ against the 21-day trend, while the weekly cycle adds about 1¢ right now.
Airdrie
Airdrie is running higher than the big cities, averaging 156.5¢ a litre across 17 stations, up 1.1¢ since this morning's 155.4¢, but down 2.6¢ from yesterday's 159.1¢. The best deal right now is 150¢ at Gas Plus on 200-800 Airdrie Rd, followed by Mobil at 1050 Yankee Valley Rd SE (152¢) and Mobil at 300 Veterans Blvd NE (152¢). QEII commuters can also check the Costco gas bar at CrossIron Mills in Balzac, about ten minutes south, which CheapGasCalgary.ca says is frequently the cheapest fill between Calgary and Red Deer.
Outlook
Prices crept up through the morning, but the local trackers still say hold off if your tank can wait. CheapGasCalgary.ca expects Calgary prices to fall about 8¢ over the next three days, and CheapGasEdmonton.ca expects Edmonton to drop about 6¢. WTI crude is sitting around $96.16 US a barrel, and the Edmonton rack (wholesale) price is flat over the past five days.
The fuel tax holiday
Alberta's 13¢-a-litre provincial fuel tax holiday started Oct. 1 and runs through Dec. 31. On Wednesday evening, Sept. 30, the night before it kicked in, Calgary averaged 161.0¢ and Edmonton 162.0¢. Today Calgary is 5.5¢ lower and Edmonton is 10.4¢ lower than that.
